Acura’s all-wheel-drive hybrid supercar is going out with a bang and not a whimper. Practically hand-built in its own dedicated facility in Ohio, the current-generation NSX has never been a huge seller —128 cars sold in 2020 in the United States, and 238 in 2019. It has been, however, a superb driver’s car and an exceptional halo model for the Honda’s premium brand. The final run of 300 NSXs for the 2022 model year will each wear individually numbered Type S badges and a new front bumper. There will also be 600 horsepower instead of the usual 573. Although the NSX is going away in its current form, a company spokesman hints that a battery-electric replacement is in the works.
