It would seem the automaker wants to demonstrate its all-wheel-drive fleet is capable of extreme off-road agility. The previously announced 2022 Outback Wilderness edition has one inch more ground clearance, retuned suspension and transmission, and it gets all-terrain tires. It has also been revealed that a Forester Wilderness model with similar off-road adaptation will also arrive for the 2022 model year. Given Subaru’s long-standing experience with all-wheel-drive, it makes perfect sense that Subaru cashes in on the current boulder-bashing craze.

Subaru is wise to capitalize on its experience with all-wheel-drive by creating more off-road-capable models.
