In the 1960s, the Ford Motor Company spent millions of dollars to develop a car that would beat perennial winner Ferrari in the yearly 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race. In 1966, New Zealanders Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon finished first in the Ford GT40 Mk II. In fact, teams driving GT40s took first, second and third. To honour that milestone, Exoto created the GT40 Sports Chronograph watch. Features include a large 44-millimeter face along with a double-stitched leather strap. There are six face styles to choose from, although only 24 of each for sale. The tribute watch sells US $8,800, but if that’s too steep, you could choose from several 1:18-scale replica GT40 Mk II model cars, with prices starting at $900, plus shipping.
