The long-awaited electric pickup was recently revealed in concept form and contains some significant surprises. The sleek-but-tough-looking Ram 1500 Revolution BEV Concept — the production version of which is due in 2024 — has a passenger compartment that’s about four inches longer than that of the current crew-cab Ram 1500. That allows for two foldout jump seats behind the second row, attached to the optional power-folding rear wall that drops to allow long cargo to be transported. Using a passthrough to the front storage trunk, skinny objects up to 18 feet in length can be brought aboard. Power-system details are scant, but it has been confirmed the electric Ram will be available with a range-anxiety-reducing gasoline electric generator, which adds juice to the battery pack in support of the pickup’s front and rear electric motors.
