The next generation of the brand’s top-level four-door is slated to arrive in late 2022 as a 2023 model. The extra-luxurious G90 is intended to compete with the Mercedes-Benz S class, Lexus LS, BMW 7 series and other upscale sedans. The upcoming model has a sleeker profile and a formal roofline. The Genesis G90’s base engine will be a 375-horsepower twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6. Optional will be a supercharged version that combines with a 48-volt electric motor-generator to make 420 horsepower. All-wheel drive will be standard. The G90 will get an air suspension with a “Chauffeur” mode designed to deliver a pillow-soft ride. A plug-in hybrid and/or a battery-electric option of unknown output(s) are also said to be in the G90’s future.
